Bite Blocks

Dental bite blocks are used to help keep a patient's mouth and jaw open wide enough during a clinical procedure. Also known as mouth props, these small devices are designed to provide enough strength to prevent the patient from closing down, but a soft enough surface to provide patient comfort. Bite blocks can be disposable or reusable, and it is important to properly sterilize or autoclave reusable blocks. Some bite blocks integrate lighting or a connection to your operatory suction. When selecting a bite block be sure to consider the comfort of your patients along with the clinical efficiencies.
