Adding the final touch to a dental restoration with a polishing paste is about more than just achieving an esthetic outcome with the crown, bridge, inlay or onlay. A properly polished dental restoration also provides enhanced function and less wear on the opposing teeth. Composite polishing pastes and porcelain polishing pastes are designed to provide that final finish and protection for restorations after they have been adjusted and finished. Often suited for intraoral application, polishing pastes should be used with the proper polishing wheel and the corresponding restorative material.
