Intraosseous Anesthetic Delivery Systems

Intraosseous anesthetic delivery systems are used when traditional anesthetics are unable to work due to the location requiring anesthesia. These systems are designed to provide pain relief directly to intraosseous tissues and the surrounding areas. Intraosseous anesthesia is delivered by creating a small hole in the gingiva and osseous tissue and then injecting the anesthetic directly to that site. These systems often allow anesthetics to be delivered multiple times to the same site. As with any technique sensitive delivery system, it is important to follow the manufacturer's protocol when using an intraosseous anesthetic.
