Band Seaters and Bite Sticks

Band seaters and bite sticks are used to place and adjust orthodontic bands. These hand instruments can be single- or double-ended and a variety of handle styles are available. Band seaters allow the patients bite to push the bands into proper position, which is where the name bite sticks come from. Band seaters can be made from stainless steel, polymers or a range of other materials, but they should always be durable and easy to sterilize. As with all hand instruments, choose a band seater that feels comfortable in your hands.
