(NYSE: SONX), a leading dental technology company and developer of the GentleWave® System, today announced that more than one million patients have now been treated with the GentleWave Procedure since the system entered the commercial market. Redefining the standard of care for root canal therapy, the GentleWave Procedure offers a minimally invasive process that preserves tooth structure and promotes fast healing. A testament to the continued adoption and utilization of the GentleWave System, this latest milestone demonstrates doctors’ and patients’ growing preferences for modern root canal treatment and technology that puts the patient experience first.
In honor of this milestone, select GentleWave patients who previously received the procedure returned to their endodontist, Dr. Tadros M Tadros with Hudson Endodontics in Hudson, NH, to share their positive experiences. As an avid user of the GentleWave System since 2020, Dr. Tadros has treated more than 1,100 patients with the GentleWave Procedure to date.

According to a recent survey conducted by Sonendo, more than 67% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with the following statement: “I am terrified of getting a root canal procedure.” 77% said that they would rather spend the night in the airport than undergo root canal treatment and more than 80% said that the idea of root canal treatment provoked a sense of fear. Unsurprisingly, the idea of intense pain and a slow healing process can cause some patients to avoid or postpone treatment – thereby compromising their health. However, results from an ongoing clinical trial sponsored by Sonendo indicate that 99.5% of patients experienced no pain during the GentleWave Procedure with CleanFlow™ Technology.
