COLTENE launches BRILLIANT Crios
Altstaetten – COLTENE, a global manufacturer of dental consumables, in February 2016 launches new reinforced composite blocs for chairside manufactured permanent inlays, onlays, full anatomical crowns and veneers for the CAD/CAM Cerec system under the name BRILLIANT Crios. With this innovation, COLTENE is placing special emphasis on composite as a versatile, high-performance material suited to computer-assisted processing directly in the dental practice and further broadens both its know-how and its already vast offering in the restoration segment.
COLTENE is an official material partner to Sirona’s CEREC CAD/CAM system. The BRILLIANT Crios blocks will be an integral part of future CEREC software versions. They combine all advantages of an innovative submicron hybrid composite material for the CEREC chairside manufacturing process to achieve a reliable, aesthetic and fast restoration without an additional burning process. The controlled industrial production provides the reinforced composite blocs with excellent mechanical qualities.
Entry into the digital dentistry
Modern composite materials have a substantial similarity to the natural tooth. They allow minimal invasive restorations efficiently in only one session, providing excellent aesthetic results. Martin Schaufelberger, CEO of COLTENE Group: "Digitization increasingly finds its way into dentistry. As a pioneer, COLTENE has been instrumental in advancing and defining the development of composites for decades. The launch of BRILLIANT Crios and the partnership with Sirona within the CAD/CAM area mark COLTENE's entry into the future-oriented, digital dentistry and underscore the Company's commitment to innovation."
Coordinated product offer
The novel, resin-based composite formulation for BRILLIANT Crios combines excellent flexural strength with low brittleness and a shock-absorbing effect, making it ideal for implant restorations and positively influencing the patient's bite experience. The material is exceptionally wear-resistant and long-luster yet kind to the antagonist teeth. Unlike traditional ceramics, the reinforced composite blocs can easily be polished and adjusted at anytime. A safe luting can be achieved with ONE COAT 7 UNIVERSAL and the universal composite BRILLIANT EverGlow or - depending on the application situation – with dual-curing cements like SoloCem or DuoCem available from COLTENE. With this restoration system COLTENE expresses its commitment to composite as a versatile, high-performance material and to the digital future of chairside restorative dentistry.
