MyRay Hyperion X5 Gains FDA Approval
Charlotte, N.C. – Cefla Medical Solutions has announced that the MyRay Hyperion X5 has cleared the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approval process, making it available to dental customers in the U.S. Until now, only European dentists have been able to enjoy the advantages of the revolutionary X5. Now this renowned MyRay product is poised to join the array of practice solutions available in the U.S. from Cefla Medical Solutions North America, a subsidiary of Europe’s largest dental chair manufacturer.
Cefla General Manager Massimo Di Russo says that the X5 enables dentists to offer a higher level of patient care. “It helps dentists make an immediate diagnosis, keep patients informed and make the most of every minute of the day as they work to complete and explain procedures.” In 2015, the X5 was awarded the 2015 Red Dot Design Award for Product Design by an international panel of independent judges who judged it and some 5,000 other products on criteria ranging from ergonomics to functionality, durability and the degree of innovation.
The X5 was showcased at the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) show at the end of last year. Prospective customers will have two more chances to see it in operation in the first half of 2016. It will be featured at the CMW Meeting, to be held February 25 - 27 in Chicago, as well as the CDA South Meeting later in May.
Its beauty lies in its simplicity
The Hyperion X5 is the first-ever, wall-mounted panoramic imaging system, and has the distinction of being the smallest pan unit ever available in the market. With an ultra-simple user interface, the X5 achieves up to 15 high-definition 2D projections in just a few simple steps. Installation is astonishingly quick, with minimal time and cost.
Automatic focusing and Morphology Recognition Technology (MRT) avoids the need to manually set exposure parameters and jaw size of the patient, and guards against under- or overexposure. All its technological innovations combine to greatly simplify practice workflow.
One-touch diagnosis
The X5 offers the diagnostic features needed for all patients in a few, simple steps. The QuickPan exam allows a reduction in exposure time (only 6 sec) and radiation dose, while the MultiPan function offers the opportunity to scroll between several panoramic slices obtained through a single examination, and select the sharpest from the group. The unit’s high signal-noise ratio enables you to see clinical details with utmost clarity, and the broad focal layer ensures quality images in every circumstance.
Well-connected
Hyperion X5 shares its own images with all the PCs present in the practice, thanks to the included iRYS image management software suite that’s present with every MyRay device. If preferred, full TWAIN connectivity allows the pan to be used with any other imaging software on the market. Automatic stand-by and immediate reactivation minimize electricity consumption. Quality of materials and design simplicity ensure maximum reliability over time.
A company driven to excel
As Di Russo said, “Cefla believes in much more than just packing as much technology as possible into a dental device. Our main goal is to make each device as effective as possible, so that the end-user can immediately benefit from what the technology has to offer, in terms of both performance and quality. We're proud that our creative solutions offer unprecedented levels of comfort and the best available technology. You can count on us for instruments designed for innovation, speed, design and performance.”
