VITA SUPRINITY - the new generation of glass ceramic
With the zirconia reinforced lithium silicate ceramic, in short ZLS, VITA Zahnfabrik has developed a new generation of glass ceramic materials in collaboration with Degudent GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC. The new glass ceramic is marketed by VITA Zahnfabrik under the name of VITA SUPRINITY. With a zirconium dioxide content around ten times that of traditional CAD/CAM glass ceramic in combination with a particularly fine-grained and homogeneous structure, ZLS ensures excellent mechanical properties. The high strength and reliability of the new material gives CAD/CAM practice and laboratory users a wide range of possibilities for application.
VITA SUPRINITY is distinguished by its outstanding mechanical strength and is also highly user-friendly. The new glass ceramic allows easy manual reworking and excellent polishing, and can also be crystallized without auxiliary firing paste. Furthermore, its optimum edge stability ensures improved precision. The end results are esthetically impressive with their natural translucency, fluorescence and opalescence. With a wide range of indications including anterior and posterior crowns, supra-constructions on implants as well as veneers, inlays and onlays, the new generation of glass ceramic is highly versatile. The material is available in the geometries LS14 (18 x 14 x 12 mm) for the CEREC / inLab MC XL system in the shades 0M1, A1, A2, A3.5, B2, C2 and D2, each in two different degrees of translucency (T = Translucent, HT = High Translucent).
The VITA SUPRINITY Polishing Sets are recommended for the polishing of VITA SUPRINTIY restorations. Shade characterization is possible with the new VITA AKZENT Plus stains. The fine-structure feldspar ceramic VITA VM 11 was developed especially for the individualization of restorations made of the new glass ceramic. The market introduction of VITA SUPRINITY, together with the low-melting veneering ceramic and the special polishing instruments, is scheduled for autumn 2013.

VITA AKZENT Plus
VITA AKZENT® Plus ‒ new stains with a distinctive character for a head start in versatile, user-friendly and cost-effective restorations.
The new VITA AKZENT Plus stains will replace VITA AKZENT and VITA SHADING PASTE, the previous generation of ceramic stains. As a result, customers can now benefit from an integrated system that supports a considerably broader range of indications. The new VITA AKZENT Plus stains provide a complete, integrated system that is both extremely user-friendly and offers exceptional application reliability. Thanks to a broader range of indications, these new stains provide users in practice and laboratory environments with freedom and versatility during processing, allowing all kinds of dental ceramic materials to be easily and efficiently customized and enhanced with shade effects, regardless of the CTE of the restoration.
VITA AKZENT Plus is a comprehensive system of 'glazing' and 'masking' stains and glazing agents that offer the user almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to shade modification. Be it fine glazing, coloring, surface customization or mixing during the course of layering – these stains ensure a successful result without unnecessary effort.
The new stains support a variety of approaches to processing as well as a range of applications, and are available combined as a powder/liquid, as a paste, and as a spray.
The new translucent glazing stains (Body Stains) can be used for surface staining as well as for internal coloring. Body Stains are available in six shades as a paste, a powder, and as a spray.
The extremely fine-grained, fluorescent masking stains (Effect Stains) offer excellent coverage thanks to the intensive appearance of each shade, and can be used for applying natural surface effects. Effect Stains are available in 13 shades as a paste and as a powder.
For silk-matte surfaces, we recommend Finishing Agent. This material seals microporosities and increases biocompatibility in the subgingival area. Finishing Agent is available as a powder and as a paste. Uniform surfaces that shine can be achieved using glazing agents (VITA AKZENT Plus Glaze). These are available as a powder, a paste, and as a spray.
For use in the case of ceramics with firing temperatures of up to 800 °C, the VITA range now not only includes VITA AKZENT Plus Glaze, but also offers a new low-melting glazing agent: VITA AKZENT Plus Glaze LT.
From IDS 2013, VITA AKZENT Plus stains will be available from specialist dealers in three forms:
- VITA AKZENT Plus POWDER KIT
