Marus MaxStar 1690 Dental Chair

The Marus Company makes many fine chairs with a great advantage over the other name brands like ADEC and Dentsply—Marus chairs are less expensive, but with all the advantages of a name brand chair.

Take the Marus MaxStar 1690 Dental Chair, which this product summary concentrates on. This chair comes in a variety of colors and fabrics, as well as either an electric lift or hydraulics. There is a foot pedal available to select chair positions, as well as several preset positions included; all preset positions can be altered by the operator.

The hydraulic version is the typical standard chair that has been around for decades. The newer electric version is really neat. It moves quietly, and goes to position so fast you need to tell the patient, “we’re moving now,” or they'll get a surprise. That may or may not be an advantage for you. What is an advantage is the experience with heavier patients. Hydraulics will often moan and groan under the weight of a large patient. The movements of the electric version are seamless and easy by comparison

The available synthetic leather fabric is something that your patients are sure to comment on. The nature of the material is very close to a Tempurpedic design that somewhat molds to body shape. It is silky smooth and feels very pleasant—almost like a fine piece of furniture.

The foot pedal on the Marus chair is easy to manipulate and to preset to various positions—up to four presets. There are also controls on both sides of the chair to make movements quite convenient.

Another advantage of the Marus chair, compared to its competitors, is its slim profile. Certain name brand high-end chairs are quite wide and make it hard to get ergonomically well positioned to the patient. The Marus has just enough width for good patient support, yet narrow enough for the dentist to get close enough for comfortable working.

The armrest is easy to open and close for patient entrance and exit. There are also useful side fabric supports by the armrests where patients can rest their arms. All in all, it’s a comfortable and supportive chair.

Now for the particularly good news. The Marus chair, even the high-end version, is priced significantly below its competition. It has luxury features the competition either doesn’t have or has for a significantly higher amount of money. The warranty is very good for this chair. From the reactions of many patients who have been in this chair, I predict you will get a very satisfying response from your own.
