| Commemorating both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Dental Hygiene Month in October, Hu-Friedy is donating a portion of purchase proceeds on select instruments to the Network of Strength, which provides support and information to all affected by breast cancer. Hu-Friedy will be contributing $1.00 for each Pink Ribbon CUREtte purchased, and $2.00 for each Pink Ribbon #100 Thin Swivel Direct Flow Ultrasonic Insert purchased.
Additionally, as part of its ongoing commitment to support breast cancer awareness and research initiative, Hu-Friedy is offering an online CE course titled, "Breast Health and the Dental Hygienist: What You Need To Know."
The course was developed in collaboration with two dental hygienists, Debra Grant, RDH, CA and Claudia Turcotte, RDH, CDA who have a very personal tie to the topic. Both Debra and Claudia are breast cancer survivors and supports of Network of Strength. The course is designed to provide an in depth understanding of the procedures for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The dental professional should recognize the associated oral implications and dental treatment considerations. This program further provides a patient's perspective of the dental experience of living with breast cancer.
