Stainless steel bur blocks 9931 and 9933L3 (shown in photo) are designed for simple cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of dental instruments. Any KOMET friction grip or contra-angle instruments stored in these bur blocks can be cleaned and disinfected either in an instrument and/or ultrasonic bath (in which case the block must be closed), or in the thermo disinfector (in which case the block must be open).
The sterilization takes place in the autoclave. The bur blocks' blue silicone plugs hold the instruments tightly in place; the instruments cannot fall out. In refill packs of 8 pieces, the silicone plugs are also available in yellow and red. Block 9931 holds up to 9 instruments and block 9933L3 holds up to 12 instruments.
