The Midmark M3 UltraFast® Automatic Sterilizer is an autoclave that sterilizes unwrapped instruments and handpieces in just 6 minutes and pouched instruments in just over 10, with the touch of a button. The M3 features One-step loading, Push-button cycle selection, automatic-opening door, water level monitoring, 25 minute drying, convenient top-fill access to water reservoir, and a front reservoir drain with on-board drain tube storage. The condensate tank has a quick release lid, convenient carrying handle and water level sensor. The M3 was designed for use as a stand-alone sterilizer or as a complementary sterilizer to the Midmark M9 and M11. All three are similar in ease of use and function - the M9 and M11 provide maximum sterilizing capacity, while the M3 provides the speed required when instruments are needed quickly. The M3 is equipped with a fully automatic door that closes at the start of each cycle and opens at the end of each cycle to dry an instrument load in as little as 25 minutes. The new 5.25 x 6.5 size Sure-Check Sterilization Pouch is designed for bur blocks and impression trays.  Sure-Check sterilization pouches have internal and external "multi-parameter" indicators that clearly show if the three parameters for sterilization have been met during processing - required temperature for the proper amount of time and contact with saturated steam under pressure (as recommended by CDC infection control guidelines and ISO sterilization standards). 

Sure-Check pouches provides a reliable indication that the required conditions for sterilization have been met as compared to using internal single parameter pouches.  The use of Sure-Check pouches saves money and time because there is no need to purchase separate indicator strips and insert them into the pouches.

Stainless steel bur blocks 9931 and 9933L3 (shown in photo) are designed for simple cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of dental instruments. Any KOMET friction grip or contra-angle instruments stored in these bur blocks can be cleaned and disinfected either in an instrument and/or ultrasonic bath (in which case the block must be closed), or in the thermo disinfector (in which case the block must be open). The sterilization takes place in the autoclave. The bur blocks' blue silicone plugs hold the instruments tightly in place; the instruments cannot fall out. In refill packs of 8 pieces, the silicone plugs are also available in yellow and red. Block 9931 holds up to 9 instruments and block 9933L3 holds up to 12 instruments.

The Identafi™ 3000 ultra is an upgraded version of the original small, cordless, handheld oral cancer screening device. The ultra features enhancements such as nickel-plating, double the auto-fluorescent power, and both hardware and software upgrades. The device uses a three-wavelength optical illumination and visualization system to allow dental professionals to catch early cancers not visible to the naked eye.

The Identafi 3000 ultra features the same proprietary, patented multi-spectral light wavelengths as the popular Identafi 3000. A study published in the May 2009 issue of Cancer Prevention Research found that the excitation wavelength delivered by the Identafi 3000 (and Identafi 3000 ultra) is optimal for discriminating between neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions. New diodes deliver twice the auto-fluorescent power to further improve visualization.

The Identafi 3000 ultra uses three different wavelengths of light to excite oral tissue in distinct and unique ways. Biochemical changes can be observed with fluorescence, while morphological changes can be observed with reflectance. This multiple wavelength technology identifies abnormal tissue with more accuracy than a single color wavelength.

Nickel plating has been added to the Identafi 3000 ultra to boost electrical conductivity, improve durability, and provide a smoother feel. Trimira has also made hardware and software upgrades to maximize the device’s performance.

The XIOSPlus intraoral sensor system provides flexibility of capturing quality digital X-rays by using either an Ethernet or USB module. With Sirona’s intuitive SIDEXIS XG software, practitioners can view digital X-rays directly on any computer monitor or the office network without license fees.

The Ethernet (wall module) is easy to integrate into any network. Using its large-sized multicolor display, the user can confirm patient information prior to taking the image. Various LCD colors indicate the current operational status. The wall module also allows the user to plug in two sensors simultaneously, so that the right sensor is always close at hand. The built-in sensor holders also reduce clutter and minimize the risk of damage to the sensors.

The USB module can be connected to any PC as a true “plug-and-play” component, allowing sensors to be used anywhere they are needed. The USB module also features LED indicators of system status.

The MaxilloPrep Spread-Condense system (Kit 4596) comprises titanium Spread-Condense screws for bone spreading and condensation. The screw’s shape is initially cylindrical turning after 5 mm into a tapered shape with threaded flanks (up to a total length of 15 mm), exerting effective spreading and condensing pressure on the bone.

Depth marks placed in intervals of 2 mm allow penetration depths to be visually controlled at all times starting at 8 mm from the tip of the screws. Depth marks are easily recognizable because the surface’s lasered color which alternates between light and dark every 2 mm. The screws rounded ends help protect from inadvertent perforations.

Using a hand wrench, Spread-Condense screws are inserted into a small pilot hole, prepared by a stainless-steel drill (210L16). The screws are then screwed in and out in ascending order until the required target size is reached, ensuring optimum primary stability of the subsequently inserted implant. The MaxilloPrep Spread-Condense screws can also be used for bone condensing treatments of a spongy bone structure.

The screws are available in 5 sizes; sizes 4 and 5 also come with a triangular cross-section for condensation and expansion of extremely hard bones. Because all screws are made of pure titanium, they are designed for multiple uses.

The 4:1 ratio allows the use of an initiator system to engineer a catalyst that is very stable, even without refrigeration. The EASYCUT is designed to cut gutta percha simply, predictably, and safely.

Place the EASYCUT into the pulp chamber in the patient’s mouth when it is cold. As soon as it is correctly positioned, simply press the operating button and the tip heats to the correct temperature within a fraction of a second. As soon as the gutta percha has been cut (which takes 1–3 seconds), releasing the operating button and the tip cools immediately, the EASYCUT can be safely removed cold from the patient’s mouth.

Trepan burs (TRT.205.045/055/065) are designed for the removal of bone blocks. With its proprietary blade configuration, its cutting teeth are arranged in pairs, allowing a non-traumatic treatment for optimal results. Large perforations within its working parts allow for an unobstructed view of the site and facilitate the removal of bone cylinders. Depth marks around the periphery allow exact determination of preparation depth.

The VistaPure system produces two grades of water — distilled-quality water for autoclaves and ultra filtered non-corrosive water for bottles used with dental delivery systems.

The first stage is a prefilter that removes sediment, chlorine, chloramines, trihalomethanes and other contaminants by physical filtration, absorption and adsorption.

Next is the hyper filtration stage where pressure forces the water through a semi permeable membrane, removing contaminants at the molecular level. Impurities such as nitrates, sulfates, heavy metals, sodium, calcium and approximately 95% of other water contaminants are removed and rinsed away from the membrane and down the drain.

The water is then sent to a cartridge that contains both cationic and anionic resins for removing any remaining contaminants by a deionization process.

The final stage is a polishing filter. The finished water is then sent to a 2.7 gallon storage reservoir where it is easily dispensed for use.

Two new panoramic bitewing programs (BW1 and BW2) are available for the ORTHOPHOS® XGPlus and XG 5 panoramic units and allow the practitioner to take a diagnostic image quickly and easily.

The new bitewing programs provide practitioners with the option of taking an extraoral bitewing image when an intraoral image is difficult or not feasible. The programs are easy to use, and are a low-dose alternative for diagnosis in the posterior and anterior regions.

The BW1 posterior program provides additional diagnostic information compared to standard intraoral bitewings and is a suitable alternative for patients with challenging intraoral anatomy. With the XG 5, both sides are imaged, while the right, left or both sides can be selected on the XGPlus units.

The BW2 anterior program provides a detailed overview image of the anterior area. It can be used with the edentulous positioning guide for anterior trauma patients. It is a lower-dose alternative to multiple occlusal images when focusing on the anterior region.

Forendo Paste is a non-setting, premixed calcium hydroxide paste with iodoform for root canal therapy. Forendo Paste is a temporary or permanent endodontic filling material that promotes healing and inhibits bacterial growth in the root canal.

Forendo Paste contains calcium hydroxide and iodoform in a silicone oil base. It has a pH greater than 12 and is radiopaque. The paste is bactericidal and bacteriostatic. It is recommended for routine use as a disinfecting root canal dressing between office visits to prevent flare-ups and for treatment of infected root canals, abscesses, periapical lesions, perforations, exudation, root resorption, traumatic injuries, and for apexification and apexogenesis. Forendo Paste can be used alone as a temporary canal disinfectant, in conjunction with gutta percha for permanent filling, and for vital pulpectomies in deciduous teeth.

Designed to eliminate the risk of loose prosthetic screws, PerioSeal implants offer a collet locking connection that rigidly secures the abutment in the implant, thus eliminating micro-motion and subsequent screw loosening.

The implant is constructed with a conical opening above an internal hex; the interior of the implant is not threaded. The abutment is held in place by a locking mechanism that expands when a screw inside the abutment is tightened. This proprietary feature eliminates the possibility of broken or stripped screws preventing the use of an implant. If a problem occurs with a screw in the abutment it can be easily removed and the implant will not be damaged.

The abutment locking feature is a sliding nut that moves when the screw in the abutment is loosened or tightened. It is important to make sure the screw is not tight (locked position) prior to insertion of the abutment or it will not go into the implant.

Healing caps, ball abutments, provisional and cone top abutments use an expanding nut to lock the component into the implant.

The interior of each PerioSeal Implant has six precision index features that allow repeatable placement in sixty-degree increments. The index corresponds to the locking nut on the abutment, and the hex feature prevents the rotation of the abutments.

The Implant Abutment Junction (IAJ) of the PerioSeal Implant System is hygienically closed. The prosthetic margin of the crown is placed apical to the IAJ; thus, the IAJ is captured within the cemented crown eliminating the possibility of harboring bacteria within the IAJ. ASI’s titanium IrriVac root canal irrigation instruments have simultaneous suction and irrigation for improved, thorough cleaning and disinfection of canals. The "over-the-needle" suction tube allows placement of an irrigation needle into the canal, and while the irrigant is dispensed, it is suctioned off at the same time. The additional turbulence and generous amounts of irrigation that can be easily dispensed, offers improvements in cleaning.

The IrriVac is available in both a positive needle pressure version and a negative pressure version. An ideal complement for use with ASI’s Micro Evacuator for final rinsing, evacuation and drying, the IrriVac™ is an upgrade to ASI’s Micro Irrigation System and can be upgraded for one or more handpieces or select a combination such as one standard for EDTA, one positive pressure IrriVac for dispensing sodium hypochlorite and gross material removal and one negative pressure for final cleaning and irrigation with sodium hypochlorite.

Amaris achieves invisible restorations with two simple intuitive steps. First, the matching opaque material is chosen. The second step is then to either confirm the opaque shade with “Translucent Neutral”, or change it with “Translucent Light” or “Translucent Dark”. This “Correct As You Go” approach allows shade changes while at work--not afterwards. Two additional flowables (“High Translucent” and “High Opaque”) allow solving special situations (e.g. masking) and carry out elaborate artwork (e.g. incisal edges).

Amaris is suited for anterior and posterior restorations of all classes. Natural opalescence, opacity and fluorescence allow vital looking esthetic anteriors under all light conditions. The 80% filled Amaris is based on a three filler combination of glass, nano and pre-polymerized ISO fillers achieving a very low shrinkage of 2% and excellent wear resistance. These are the main criteria for long lasting posterior restorations.

Amaris is a non-sticky composite that is easy to shape without slumping. Other features include superb polishability, excellent gloss retention and shade stability, and a working time of at least 6 minuntes because it is not sensitive to ambient light.

Futurabond DC is a universal nano reinforced Dual-Cured Single Step Self Etch Adhesive in a new patented Single Dose delivery system. It is self etching and needs just 35 sec from start to finish with only one layer to apply. Futurabond DC works with light-, self- and dual-cured resins without extra activator liquid. Additionally, it works in a self cured mode without any light activation, making it particularly useful in endo applications like post cementation. It also avoids the pooling effect.

SINGLE DOSE DELIVERY The proprietary single dose delivery system provides the proven and stable chemistry of a two component self etch bond with the ease and speed of an all in one system. The single-dose delivery system prevents evaporation problems which could compromise bond strength.

SMALL NANOFILLERS Non-agglomerated nano particles acting as cross-links reinforce the bond and the hybrid layer resulting in a high adhesion of more than 30 MPa to dentin and enamel in the light curing mode. The small single nanofillers in Futurabond DC act like a liquid; therefore it is not necessary to shake the material prior to application as necessary for may all-in-one bond systems. This also allows applying a homogeneous and even thin bond layer of 9 microns. Being moisture-tolerant, this bond is less technique-sensitive and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

UNIVERSAL Futurabond DC is probably the first 8th generation adhesive combining the advantages of all previous generations in one bonding system. It is truly universal to use with all composites in the office and will help to reduce inventory and simplify staff training.
