| The DEXIS Platinum intra-oral sensor features a direct USB connection, new image capture technology, and enhanced ergonomic design. Maintaining both the comfort and single-sensor concept of its DEXIS PerfectSize sensor, DEXIS Platinum now combines direct USB connectivity, TrueComfort design, and PureImage technology for a new experience in digital imaging. The sensor is durable and portable for use in multiple operatories and fieldwork and its integrated USB functionality eliminates the need for adapters, controllers, or docking stations.
For patient comfort and ease-of-use, DEXIS has enhanced the ergonomic sensor housing--the TrueComfort design of the Platinum sensor’s refined beveled corners and its rounded casing ensure that there are no sharp edges against the patient’s tissues. The new smaller, angled dome on the back of the sensor incorporates the patented WiseAngle™ cable exit that increases comfort and efficiency for precise placement.
The Platinum sensor also incorporates PureImage technology — a combination of highly sophisticated software and premium-quality hardware components that provides 16,000 shades of gray generated by a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter. The sensor’s high resolution provides more than 20 visible line pairs offering remarkable image clarity and virtually no visual noise. Additionally, an exclusive design maximizes active area at the pixel level, bringing out the smallest details. With a 2.2-megapixel size, images remain crisp when enlarged.
The DEXIS Platinum sensor has an enhanced quantum efficiency which makes it very receptive and efficient when capturing X-ray images across a dynamic range of radiation settings. This delivers the ability to reduce the number of retakes due to under- and over-exposure, as well as ultimately lower radiation dosages. The sensor produces optimal, consistent images whether using with the latest intra-oral X-ray unit or an older model. |
